Weather
Palavas is located on the Mediterranean coast in the south of France. Its territory is therefore under the influence of the Mediterranean climate. This results in very few days of rainfall, although there are sometimes heavy showers during the Cévenoles episodes (in autumn when the sea is still warm).
The Mistral and the Tramontane, two dry and cool winds from the north, can blow very strongly along the coast of the Gulf of Lion. Thanks to the Cévennes to the north, which offer protection, the two winds are much less strong in Palavas than in other seaside resorts in Occitania.
The winters are rather mild and the summers are hot and dry. However, the presence of the sea favors the creation of sea breezes, which moderate the hot temperatures.
